Cadillac Area Trail Report – 03/19

We have picked up about 4 inches since the snow started yesterday afternoon. Our President just called to report he groomed the southwestern section of our trail network this morning and said the trails are very good. He also indicated the groomer out of Boon was going north to Mesick today. Snow and cooler temperatures are predicted for the rest of the week so it appears we will have some nice riding into the weekend.

Update: The Boon groomers just called in and reported the trails are in excellent conditon north of Boon to Mesick with an additional 6 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours in that area.

To better access the forest trails, you’ll want to use one of the Staging Areas below:

33 Rd Staging Area–S of M-55–approx.. 3 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs)

Caberfae Staging Area–approx.. 12 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs)

Boon Staging Area–park in plowed area south of Boon Grocery

Note: The porta-a-johns were removed from our staging areas today as our contracts on them expired 3-15-13.

Snow starting today and lake effect coming in tomorrow with 8-12′ possible thru Thursday. The groomers have been out and the trails were good over the weekend and so hopefully we’re gonna have another hoorah here this week too! Groomers will be out as long as we get snow and the temps stay down. Trails open till March 31st. Caution on trail 39. There are some pretty big wet areas, about 3 foot across and a foot deep just North of the Laughing Horse. SLOW DOWN and Ride at your own Risk of course, especially this time of year. So till next time! ENJOY while we can! Be safe, be smart, have fun out there, and I’ll seeya on the trails! Carol
