Indian River Trail Report – 12/18

Today’s report is almost the same as yesterday’s. Conditions have been quiet and we got another dusting of fluffy snow. Our temps were much more comfortable; about 25 for a high. Still plenty below freezing but more pleasant to be out and about in. We’re under 20 right now and flurries are starting to fall. We have a lot of cloud cover and may see a light snowfall again today. Trails are thin but smooth and have had very little traffic the last two days. That’s it for today! To join or renew Grooming Club membership, send your email to info@indianriversnowmobiling.org or visit www.indianriversnowmobiling.org. Thanks to your support we’re building our groomer ‘barn’ and will soon have a new facility where we can store and work on the equipment!

Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 12/17

First Ride – Dec. 17

It was time for us to do more than just shovel or plow the snow. We took the sleds out of hibernation and hit the trail this afternoon.

Great riding. No lack of snow anywhere. The groomers did a great job with all the light fluffy snow they had to work with. Trail 7 from Waters south to Frederic was really good.

We were on trails 7 and 4. Overall the riding was good. A few bumps but nothing to spoil our fun. We rode between 40 and 50 mph without any problems.

A few other riders were out. The trees are all laden heavily with snow. It is beautiful out in the winter white.
I have posted pictures on the blog from today’s ride.
