Sidnaw / Bruce Crossing Trail Report – Sno Valley Riders Snowmobile Club – 01/27

Groomer Report: The trails are taking a beating with the large amount of riders. Our groomers are out every night trying keep them in shape. There are a few spots that are not great but overall you will have a good ride.

Trail #3 North to Rockland is in GOOD condition..

Trail #8 from Ewen to trail #3 North is in GOOD condition.

Trail #3/8 from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 South intersection is in FAIR condition with some thin areas.

Trail #3 South from the railroad grade to the CC road is in GOOD condition with a couple thin spots.

Trail #8 from the trail #3 South intersection to Trout Creek is in FAIR condition.

Trail #8 from Trout Creek to Sidnaw is in GOOD condition.

Trail #8/15 from Sidnaw to the trail #109 intersection is in GOOD condition.

Watch for the groomers, they take up most of the trail and have the right of way!

Please pull over and dim your lights for them, they have a long day out there.

Use caution when using the RiderX trail maps, they are wrong! Watch the trail signs for the correct routes.

Please do not climb the “Military Hill” from the highway to the fence, we have ongoing erosion issues there and the hill climbers are adding to the problem.

Have a fun and safe trip, thank you for riding our trails and visiting our local businesses!

Lake Gogebic Trail Report – 01/26

January 26th, 2016

Groomers were pulled in overnight to have new radios installed through the 911 fund to help out in case of any emergencies on the trails. Whether that be for our drivers or snowmobilers. So, yes, this means they haven’t been grooming since last evening but this is only a small break in our grooming schedule and it’s for a very smart cause. They should be back out by this afternoon. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but please bare with us.

Continue to watch for logging truck traffic over a portion of Trail 102, and always remember to respect the trucks and give them the right of way at all times – for your safety. No problems to report on any of our other trails at this time. Please remember to always ride to the right and single file to prevent accidents, especially on blind corners.

That’s all for now from Carolyn at the Hoop. For additional information about the Lake Gogebic area please visit the chamber website at www.LakeGogebicArea.com or call us at 1-888-464-3242 (888-GOGEBIC
