Paradise Area Trail Report – 03/11

March 11, 2015 – This morning it is 28 degrees and a clear blue sky.

We hit 50 yesterday so all the trails softened up. Talked to the boys who groomed and they all said the trails are still good to go.

The next few days are supposed to be in the high 30`s to low 40`s and the nights in the teens. All the plowed roads are down to dirt or pavement so it is tough getting into and outa towns for fuel or eats. No water holes are opening up yet and we are still grooming every night.

Soooo….in a nut shell….if you want to come UP and ride for one last weekend I think you will enjoy yourselves….just don`t expect perfect…..just pretty darn good for spring riding!

Grand Marais Trail Report – 03/11

I know everyone is wondering about the trails with this Spring weather arriving so suddenly. The groomers had to stay in last night because it was way too warm. Jack went out this morning to check the trails and reports they are in good shape. Some riders came in from Munising and said our outlying trails were in great shape. Seems the one day of 50’s didn’t really hurt them. They got soft on top but froze back down over night. Once we get out there tonight, they should set up real good to make it through the next phase of warm temps this weekend. Trails in the woods should stay real nice, in the open areas you’re bound to find bare pavement or standing water. It’s Spring riding conditions so be prepared…shirt-sleeves and jacket weather.

FYI: The Spring Open House scheduled for March 21 has been canceled due to the warming trend.
