The snowmobile trails are officially open. Wish we had better news to report but unfortunately the snow is gone in and around Cadillac. There is some snow left in the national forest but it’s very spotty and thin…nasty snowmobile conditions. Now is when we need a snow storm like we had two weeks ago. We’ll let you know when conditions change.
We’ve been working hard all summer brushing and signing the trails and doing equipment maintenance on our five tractors, drags and brushing equipment. Some of our buildings needed maintenance and sprucing up as well.
We’re excited about having a new Dubie drag on order. Should be here in time for some serious grooming this winter. We’ll be using it on the 7920 in the mid-region of our trail system.
Be sure to check out our website at cadillacwinterpromotions.org to learn more about our organization and trail system.

March 27 – Via Coyote Crossing – Well this is my last trail update for the year, as we are going to Florida on Saturday… Trails are still really good in our immediate area, but no more grooming is going on this year. If you are hungry for one more ‘last’ ride, you better come on up.. Although we got 4-6″ of fresh this week, access roads are still really thin. So, you might consider trailering to staging areas, or leave directly from here at Coyote.
Special weekend rate of $129 per night available for this weekend only. Thanks again to all of you who made this a fantastic winter here at Coyote. Please remember to think of us for your KLIM needs next season, as we will be stocking more items for 2015 season. We also can take pre-season orders for KLIM. THANK YOU!! Pete & Julie

Surprise! We woke up to find 3′ of fluffy snow on the ground here in Cadillac West and there is reported to be 3′ in the Boon area as well. Today is a beautiful day for a snowmobile ride. TV 9 and 10 is forecasting a rain/mix coming in on Thursday with temps in the 30s to 40s.

It’s great to be back. Thanks for your patience. I can’t believe we are still talking about snow after all this time. Saturday, some areas of the forest picked up a couple inches of snow. Ya, I know, it’s spring. Go figure! Still plenty of good riding in the forest and temps are expected to stay cool for the next few days. Toward the end of the week temps could creep up on us in to the mid-30s/ low-40s. If so that could soften the trails and may do some damage depending on the traffic. Right now they are pretty smooth. For the best ride, plan on trailering to one our our staging areas near the forest like Cadillac West–33 Rd, 27 Rd, Boon, Bristol or Caberfae. Check out the Staging Areas page (see column on left) for directions to those staging areas. It ain’t over til it’s over and we have until March 31 to enjoy our favorite sport as long as Mother Nature continues to cooperate.
