Cadillac Area Trail Report – 01/04

Condition: Fair – Update 2:30 p.m.: Just received a call confirming that trail conditions have improved over yesterday on trails north of Hoxeyville. There are lots of sleds out today and they are doing a great job packing the trails. Snow is thinner south of Hoxeyville. White Pine trail is likely to be marginal with lots of drifts. Probably best to stay off of it at this point. Please respect the 4 inch minimum requested by the State Park folks before riding the White Pine. Not enough snow to groom yet.

We picked up 3.5 to 4 inches in the last 24 hours which has made a significant improvement in trail conditions. The coverage in the non-forest area is starting to accumulate as well. The snow guage in the Cadillac West area 2 miles north of the 33 Rd. staging area is showing 7 inches this morning. No word on grooming operations yet.

January 3, 2015 – Condition: Fair

Spoke to a friend who was out riding yesterday afternoon (Friday) on Trail 37. She said from the 19 mile marker north to Mesick the trail was fair. However, she wasn’t too excited about trail conditions south of marker 19. That means you would probably want to use the Boon or Carerfae staging areas for trail access and ride north.

We picked up some additional snow overnight with more expected today and tomorrow. According to TV 9 and 10, we can expect a little snow each day and cold temperatures for the next few days. We’ll take it. A little at a time adds up as long as we don’t get rain or warm temperatures and that doesn’t appear likely.

Cadillac Area Trail Report – 12/25

Merry Christmas–Sadly, we received only 1-2 inches of snow last night leaving us with poor snowmobiling conditons for the week between Chrismas and New Years. There doesn’t seem to be any snow forecasted for the next few days either. What a change from last year. We’re all pretty anxious for snow around here so let’s hope natures snow machine starts working in our favor SOON! We will be sure to let you know when the situation changes.

If you haven’t already purchased your trail permit, now is a good time to do it. Trail permit dollars help keep the groomers running and the trails brushed and signed.

PLEASE REMEMBER we have been asked by the State Park folks to stay off the White Pine Trail until there is at least four inches of snow on it…Let’s all respect this request. Thanks!

We’ve been working hard all summer brushing and signing the trails and doing equipment maintenance on our five tractors, drags and brushing equipment. Some of our buildings needed maintenance and sprucing up as well.

We’re excited about having a new Dubie drag on order. Should be here in time for some serious grooming this winter. We’ll be using it on the 7920 in the mid-region of our trail system.

Be sure to check out our website at cadillacwinterpromotions.org to learn more about our organization and trail system.
