Western U.P. Trail Report – Western U.P. Bureau – 02/11

We are starting off our week to a good start. More snow is falling today to top off the 4 inches of new snow we had gotten yesterday.

The Gogebic Range Trail Authority: Trail 2, 8,11S are all freshly groomed and are in good conditions. Trails 11N and 160 are in fair condition. They will be groomed this week. All trails are not being groomed daily due to the lack of drivers for the groomers. If any one is interested in helping groom log on to the Gogebic Range Trail Authority website. www.gogebicrangetrailauthority.com/

The Lake Gogebic groomers report: All trails are in good to very good condition. Groomers are out running continuously on all trails to keep them in the best possible shape. PLEASE REMEMBER TO PULL OVER IF YOU SEE A GROOMER. THEY HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY…
Just a reminder the Bergland Mobil gas station has closed, so plan your fueling accordingly.

One of the groomers is down on Trail 2 West at FR 7300 (Near Marenisco, west of bridge #14). Please use caution when passing the groomer. All trails are being groomed with the back up groomer. Grooming trail 2 west of Watersmeet will only run to FR7100 on the west end of the system. Groomers can not get around the down groomer at this time.
