SIDNAW – WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via The Sidnaw Station >> 01/10
Trail 174 heading north out of Sidnaw. This picture was taken at 2:00 this afternoon. As you can see, there is ice on the trail at the turn. Riders are reporting icy conditions on all the trails. Please slow down and stay safe!!

Groomer Report;

We are grooming about every other day at this point. The snow is getting beat up and there is ice everywhere, slow down in the corners!
The “grade” between Sidnaw and Kenton isn’t too bad, a few thin spots but certainly rideable.
The northern part of trail #3 is better towards Rockland and trail #174 north of Sidnaw is quite nice.
The “grade” from Kenton to Ewen is still pretty thin as is trail #3 south from the grade towards Bond Falls.
Please ride on the RIGHT side of the trail and STOP at the stop signs!
Stay on the trail, if you don’t we could lose trail permissions on private property.
Groomers have the right of way on the trails, pull over and stop to let them safely pass!
We now have the Groomer Trackers installed and working on our groomers.
We groom every day that the weather conditions and equipment allow. Unforeseen circumstances may prevent us from going out, like a major blizzard and being snowed in at our homes or equipment breakdowns.

Winds are expected to increase this morning, potentially peaking near 50 for large portions of the region. >60 mph winds are possible by Lake Superior. ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP >> Groomer Jay is out on trail 12. This recent picture is on his return trip to the groomer barn after doing trail 12 from Greenland to White Pine and back.
Not a single set of sled tracks...trails are setting up nicely with this snow and colder temps.

Blizzard Warnings have moved South to include Leelanau, Emmet, Cheboygan, Southeastn Chippewa, Mackinac Island/Bois Blanc, Beaver Island. Ice Storm Warnings have moved South to include Wexford, Missaukee, Oscoda, Alcona and Alpena Counties. Winter Weather Advisories now include Clare, Osceola Counties.
The warm line is farther South keeping higher totals North. Winds continue to pick up along with the snow tonight.

➡️ The Blizzard Warning lasts until 8 pm Eastern Monday.
