Still nothing worth getting excited about, still poor conditions around
Frederic, I did see 4 sleds over at the swamp yesterday so at least someone was trying. From what I hear trail 7 from Grayling to Gaylord is bad, 679 is bad but according to Steve and Karen 79 to Dingmans and starvation lake was good……There is a prediction for snow for the next couple of days but we need a good 4 to 6 inches miniumun to make it even a passable ride…….you know, blah, blah, blah……below are a few more pics from my trip north this past weekend……Thanks for checking in. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Precip will gradually taper through the evening. Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Additional icing across the area appears less likely today with only a glaze of ice possible for some areas. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. Does anyone have any information that would explain why Antrim County was excluded from the the governor’s State of Emergency? Are there any numbers showing ice accumulation for Antrim as compared to surrounding areas?

Did you know a 30ft diameter tree can weight up to 7,000 extra lbs with that amount of ice on it? Crazy.
