Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/22

FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 12/22

Still waiting for snow in downtown Frederic, Its a dark and cloudy Friday morning the 22nd of December and the weather forcast still looks horrible for the next week. 50s for the next couple of days. One of the pics below I took from TV last night. Other pics are from out front of Sledheads this morning. No one has been in all week. I think usually people still come up because they were planning to but I am thinking the side bys will be out and about. I wish I had better reports to give. Still no snow up in the Keewanaw either….

On the other hand I did get all my new hoodies in so if anyone needs to stay warm when you come up stop by and get a new one. I guess I should make up a side by or atv shirt. Thanks for checking in and you know I will be on here if something good happens. Pete

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

FROM Great Lakes Weather & Climate >> 📡 Statewide radar loop through 10 AM today (11/9) shows our two distinct snowmakers in progress.
The first one is the synoptic (aka "system") snow associated with a low that is moving east through southern Ohio. The counterclockwise flow around the low is shown over Metro Detroit as moisture interacts with decreasing temps, leading to this morning's snowfall.
Over the U.P. and Lake Michigan, the north winds are ushering in the coldest air of the season, which activates lake effect snow and transitions to the second portion of this snow event. Counties in the corner of southwest lower Michigan, northern Indiana and Illinois are set to receive a firehose of lake effect over the next 24-36 hrs, resulting in accumulations that could push one foot.
Portions of northern lower Michigan and the Saginaw Bay region are also set to receive lake effect snowfall through this evening, with amounts of 3-6 inches possible, with isolated higher amounts. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #newberry #soo #gaylord #cadillac #traversecity #petoskey

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/18

FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 12/18

Dont get to excited. Its monday morning about 11:30 in downtwon Frederic, We have white on the ground with about a half inch. Other than that the ground has been completely bare for many days and the forcast for into next week is still around the 40s so its not looking to good for riding sleds. I have been in and out of Sledheads here over the past few days but just checking on the place.

If we get real snow I will be open but otherwise its pretty darn slow around here. I did see some side bys out over the weekend which was perfect weather for that.

I talked to Bruce yesterday up in the Keewanaw at the Gay Bar and they have no snow either. So the big wait is still on. I wish I had better news. Maybe Santa will surprise us, but until then keep up the snow chants. The pics below I took about a half hour ago outside of Sledheads. Thanks for checking in.
