Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 03/12

Nice and Chilly and I am ready to ride, nine degrees in downtown Frederic and its crunchy just how I like it. Rich is here from River Park Campground and we are waiting on Chubby Roger to show up and we are heading out to ride. Thinking of heading south on 79 to Morristown, Lake City, Fife Lake and to Kalkaska and back to here. That should be an all day ride.

Still hoping the weather man is wrong for wed and thurs as cold temps are back for friday. They toned it down from 60s to high 40s to 50…….time will tell how it really goes. Not alot of riders out yesterday but the ones that were had a good time even though they were coming up on some rough trails. One of the pics below I just took out front of Rich standing by his ski doo and my arctic cat in it too. I havent got to ride with Chubby Roger in a long time so I am looking forward to it.

Thanks for checking in. Pete

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 03/11

It’s cloudy and 25 out with snow in the air. I would say there is about 3 new inches total on the ground since saturday nite, I havent plowed yet but probably wont. I am planning on riding tommorow. Several sleds have been thru town already this morning. Had some canadians call first thing wondering about grooming. From what I hear grayling has not been out and I went and checked trail 7 north of hulbert road and while all trails are still snow covered I havent seen any fresh groomer tracks. Pics below are trail 7 looking east and west just north of the grayling high school and trail 7 looking north of hulbert road. Super scary weather forcast for the week, we can only hope they are wrong as its now gone from 50 on thursday to 67, yes I said 67…….guess we will have to see how that plays out. Cool down back towards the weekend…..Im not ready for the end yet as I am sure many of you arent either. Time will tell…….

I just took 3 big boxes of Polar Vortex shirts down to the post office to be sent out so if you ordered you know the old saying……the shirts in the mail…..Still have a few here that people are supposed to pick up and I do have extras if any of you want to call me to order and I can send them out. Just heard a bunch of sleds out there, Its the group of canadians that called earlier, they came from grayling and said it was rough but not as bad as 2 days ago. Just put a video of them on facebook live and pic of them below too. Thanks for checking in. Pete
