Jordan Valley Trail Report – 02/28

Trail Update: The Jordan Valley, North10 and south trails to Starvation Lake and Lakes of the North were all groomed today.

We received a small amount of new snow but once again this week we are going to be in the mid to high 30’s.

After today we’ll pause grooming again until we get fresh snow or trail conditions warrant grooming.

Ride safe, ride right, ride sober. Stay tuned

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Lake effect snow continues today, stops, then resumes in intensity overnight into Tuesday, January 26th and 27th, 2026.
Discussion
Our west winds kick up to the 30-40 mph range later tonight. Prior to that happening, a northwest wind will batter some lake effect areas with an additional 1-3" this afternoon, with pockets of 4"+ possible. As we move into Tuesday, a widespread blanket of 2-5", with pockets of 4-8" will overtake the Lake Michigan shoreline, eastern UP, and Keweenaw Peninsula. Temperature difference between water and air, plus adequate lift will fuel lake effect all the way through Wednesday morning. Additionally, we have a clipper moving through on Tuesday that will bring isolated pockets of 1-3" to the east side. Most locations should still be beneath an inch, however, too many variables are in play to not mention it.
Travel will be impacted along and west of US-131, with minor travel impacts all the way over to the US-127 corridor (I-75 north of Grayling). The clipper will be swinging through with the initial push of gusty winds after midnight tonight through 10 am Tuesday morning. Again, this will be for totals starting at noon today, and lasting through 8 am EST Wednesday, with most of the snow falling throughout the entire day Tuesday. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyLake effect snow continues today, stops, then resumes in intensity overnight into Tuesday, January 26th and 27th, 2026.

Jordan Valley Trails Council Trail Report – 02/23

Trail update:

Lots of grooming today, everything but the north 10 was done today, grooming will continue through the weekend. 8-12” of snow on almost entire trail system in last few days, unfortunately it’s fluffy lake effect so it compacts to under a couple inches. We also received a small amount of freezing rain today which will only help the lake effect snow.

4/76, 76, 766 and #trail4 in decent shape considering all the warm weather and rain we’ve had for a month.

Trail along 131 is very thin, along potato fields is the worse part, but that’s ok, just remember the prestigious Jordan Valley awaits you!

Get out there ASAP and enjoy the great trails while they last! ACSC and EJTB clubs both had multiple vehicles in the parking lot and no complaints from the riders today as they were greeted with fresh snow and fresh grooms! Our friends down at Kalkaska County Sand and Snow – KCSAS have been out as well, so go visit them as well! If you want to know where either of our clubs have groomed check out Groomer Tracker, it’s a great service and a portion comes back to our clubs!

Get out on the trails! Right right, ride safe and ride sober.

Thank you to all our volunteers!
