Ironwood Trail Report – 02/06

IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 02/06

Wow! What a night of grooming with on and off whiteouts! Trails are excellent with some thin spots. They will still get icy between grooms, slow down as the day goes on. Thank you to our die hard crew who ran the past three days non stop. Trails 🔥🔥

Groomer Mike Secord out on trail 8 last night. All trails groomed in last 24 hours. Everything except 160 was groomed 7pm to 8am. Drifting and blowing snow remains but trails shaped up…so sassy! Have fun today!

IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 02/05

WE GOT THE SNOW! The forecasts this time were ACCURATE and we are so happy about it! It has snowed for 24 hours straight and is supposed to continue all day! 11s, Trail 2 Hurley to Marenisco, Trail 8 Wakefield to our M-28 turn around all hit last night. We will be after 160 and doing everything again tonight. 10″ in Wakefield and much more in the woods. Trails rated VERY GOOD. Stay warm and plan for temps! Trails will be full of snow with wind drifting them closed. It will take a few grooms to truly pack this into a base, but boy or boy are we looking at some great snow again today! West wind snowbelts (Wakefield and NE) look to be the target for the heavy stuff today. WINTER IS HERE! THANK YOU GRTA VOLUNTEERS!! www.gogebicrangeta.org/membership/
