Ironwood Trail Report – Gogebic Range Trail Authority – 01/28

Trail conditions are GOOD!

There’s a water hole between Blackjack Mountain – Big Snow Resort and Indianhead Mountain – Big Snow Resort south of Blackjack Rd please ride with caution. Bessemer to Wakefield groomed today.

The trail from Indianhead to Wakefield is very thin. Trail 2 was groomed to Marenisco & back last night (5pm-1am) and is in good to very good condition.

Trail 8 groomed yesterday and again tonight; it is also in good condition with some thin spots.

We are excited at how well they held up and 8-14′ forecasted by Monday! Come ride!

ABR Ski Trails beat us to it! Well, they always do because they are a private orginization on private property. Regardless...kudos to them, the amount of talent at ABR is hard to imagine. But the evidence shows every year in the packed parking lot!! We are snow business in Ironwood-Bessemer-Wakefield area!!We're ready........Opening ski trails tomorrow!
We picked up another 6-8 inches of snow yesterday and last night. Our official storm total was 14 inches!! Today we packed and rolled and groomed 55 km of trail. The ground is frozen, so no wet spots! We will opening about 25-40 km of ski trails at 10 am Wednesday. We will have classic tracks set on most or all of the trails

We're hearing and seeing totals so far today at least 9-12". But the good news is we'll catch up as the heavy stuff comes tonight. 🀀πŸ’ͺπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‘ ... See MoreSee Less

Thanks for the shout! How exciting is this?! Here we goooo😎

serious question here. so if you get 12 or more inches, on top of what is there and get more in the next couple weeks, won't that make it really hard to groom? seems like a lot of built up and settled snow to pull a drag through. hope the equipmant holds up.

Ironwood Trail Report – Gogebic Range Trail Authority – 01/19

This picture is trail 2 in Ironwood; the rail beds are holding up nicely and listed in good condition(discoloration seen from highway sand).

Grooming is currently not an option until temperatures drop below freezing.

The trail from Ramsay Crossing to Wakefield is in poor condition, very low snow in spots, half of it is in good condition. We’ve seen a lot of sleds up here during the week and the trails haven’t degraded much at all. With the temps keeping us from grooming trail conditions could be rough by the weekend, however.

Please tread lightly on the trails, please stay on the trails, we’ll get out grooming as soon as the weather allows.

Think snow, not rain!
