Ironwood Trail Report – 02/15

Good Morning Michigan Sled Heads! It was 47 degrees yesterday, 32 the day before and is currently 33 degrees, BUT DROPPING! We plan to head out this afternoon working from Bessemer, MI to Wakefield, MI on Trail 2, then out Trail 8 and hopefully then out to Marenisco. We know Trail 2 coming into Marenisco is rough right now, we suspect 8 is also rough.

We remain down a groomer and it looks like we will attempt to finish the season with only one groomer as well. The state is juggling many broken groomers and has confirmed they will not provide us a loaner nor repair our rig for the foreseeable future. They did offer to partially fund a rental rig, but our club has decided to not take on excessive risk.

We will continue to try and keep up, but covering 40 miles as the crow flies (2/3rds of Gogebic County) with 1 groomer has been tough, but our trails have been great! THANK YOU TO OUR 100% VOLUNTEER GROOMER OPERATORS! You set us apart from every other club around us here in Michigan!
