ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via NORTH COUNTRY SNOWMOBILE CLUB – 12/29
All 3 groomers were out all night Hollywood Jay, and mikey put in 12 hours per machine.
We groomed 102 miles of our 109 miles of trail system, and they are good but… it’s 36 degrees at 730 am. and supposed to be above freezing for the next 5 days so wet spots will start to show and trails will wopp out by afternoon at least we have alot of snow so the warm up shouldn’t hurt our base to much
Trail 1 groomed good.
Trail 11 south boundary groomed and excellent
Trail 12 groomed God with a couple rough spots watch for wet spots appearing
Trail 13 groomed and will be awesome for the first 200 sleds
Trail 101 groomed awesome
Trail 137 groomed good

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Blizzard conditions persist today for central and eastern Upper Michigan, while snowfall lessens in the west. Winds are expected to increase this morning, potentially peaking near 50 for large portions of the region. >60 mph winds are possible by Lake Superior. Not a single set of sled tracks...trails are setting up nicely with this snow and colder temps.

Blizzard Warnings have moved South to include Leelanau, Emmet, Cheboygan, Southeastn Chippewa, Mackinac Island/Bois Blanc, Beaver Island. Ice Storm Warnings have moved South to include Wexford, Missaukee, Oscoda, Alcona and Alpena Counties. Winter Weather Advisories now include Clare, Osceola Counties.
The warm line is farther South keeping higher totals North. Winds continue to pick up along with the snow tonight.
