Grand Marais Trail Report – Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 03/25

GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc.

East on 8 for my last run of the season. Trail has lots of life left in it. Wet in just one place and no dirt in any corners Want to thank everyone at Sno Trails for having patience with me as I made my way through my second year. Great bunch of people! Groomer Dan

Ran the west trail Sun. Night. 8 west, 89 and 88 "the grade". The grade is smooth and hard, for the most part, trails 8 and 89 are smooth. However, due to being in shade most of the day, there are some rough and choppy corners. They set up after dark and were to hard to cut down. Be alert in the twelve mile beach area there are several big ruts/pot holes. 4th pic-88 "the grade"; last pic-89 stopped to discuss trail conditions with sledders. Groomer Phil

Groomed South Sunday night late. 8, 443 and 88. Trail was moguled on the inside corners to start everything flattened up good. 1st photo is of a beautiful moon on the McCloud grade. Be safe and ride right. Groomer Will

Grand Marais Trail Report – Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 03/24

GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc.

Ran the East run Saturday, trail 8 towards pine stump….. With the abundant sunshine, warm temperature and lots of traffic….. this definitely equals a soft, ripped up trail. It was wet and gummy at the start so I was just skimming with the front blade and panning with the drag it was working ok. As the night went on, I could cut a little more. I can say the trail is still soft, but a lot smoother. Enjoy another day of riding. And thanks to everyone for the hand signals and for jumping off the trail to let me by. Groomer Phil

Groomed our north trail: 8 west, 888, 88, and town. Tr as ils were beat up from traffic and the sun. Cut most of the moguls out. Getting thin on pavement to town. All road crossings are bare, but trail is in good shape. Should be a great morning for a fun ride.

Be smart, be safe!
