Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/17
January 17, 2022
21 degrees this morning and cloudy. No new snow in the last week and our trails are starting to show it. We are supposed to get some through-out this week though. Here`s a run down on our system…..
Groomer Kevin ran the Point trails yesterday. He rated them from poor to really good. The north side is really thin on snow and pretty much down to dirt but the rest of this trail is really good. I am runnin the south trail #8 today, Mike C. is runnin the Stump trail #8 and Gerald is heading to the Falls on #45. I`ll let ya`ll know how they turned out in tomorrows report.
This past weekend was crazy busy. Because of no snow "down below", everybody filtered to da yoop. Frankly, I am disappointed on how some people behaved. We had numerous close calls with people going WAY too fast and almost hittin the groomers. One of our drivers almost got hit 5 times in a ten mile stretch! He almost said the heck with this and jumped on the road to get back to the barn! I was hit once on the Falls trail. We had one bad accident in a tight section of trail because of speed. The town trail was nuts from jerks going way to fast and jumping driveways. The speed limit in town is 15 MPH! Law enforcement has been notified and they are gonna double up enforcement this next weekend and into the future. I could go on and on about things that happened this weekend because of these speed idiots but I`ll put it to rest here with this warning……you are being watched! I know 90% of you don`t fall into this catagory, but the 10% that do are in for a wake up! Nuff said.

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Halfway Lake Cottages, LLC >> When they closed the doctors offices last night because of conditions then we woke to about 6 inches of snow on top of ice, Chris decided to stay home. He spent 5 hours plowing then we went for a ride. We took 9 to Pine Stump and back and it was an amazing ride minus the sleeping child riding with me! We passed the groomer on the way there and on the way back! The picture of our backs is actually from the TASA page! Hey - it’s a family picture! 😂 #newberry #snowphotos

You may have been one of the few groups I saw today. Pretty sure I saw you on 9 today. My favorite trail in Michigan but it has taken 5 of my helmets peaks this winter. I plan on doing some brushing this summer on 9.

we rode 9 saturday and sunday it was perfect, almost doesnt need groomed , 433 and 431 were in need and 440 needs closed down all together, most everything else could use it but not bad
