PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 12/08
OK, finally gettin my butt in gear! If my brother was still alive he would be all over me calling me “slacker”. LOL
12/8/25
16 degrees this morning with a light snow falling. We haven`t been gettin the snow some of the surrounding areas have. We have about a foot on the ground, plus or minus, depending on where your at and the ground is just starting to freeze, which is the biggest thing we need! It has been chilly and we have been gettin a little snow bout every day and it looks like it will stay that way….lets cross our fingers. Here`s the scoop on whats been happinin` out at da barn…..
After a problem free run last year with the machines we started out not so hot this year. When we fired them up this fall all 3 machines started to yell at us…..beeping and flashing codes all over the place….darn computers anyhow! We did get one machine to clear but the other 2 won`t. The tech is supposed to come out this week and check them out. This is one reason we haven`t been out other than settin the town trail. We still have a TON of water on the trails at this time also. The Falls trail #45, the south trail #8 (of course) and even sections of the Point trails #452 and #453. I did see a nasty rescue run with sleds stuck in a big water hole on the Falls trail….so don`t even think about going around the gates on that trail or the swamp trail south of town!!! By the looks of the weather forecast things should start to tighten up soon, just be patient.
I`ll start gettin on here more when we start making progress but for now we are in a holding pattern till we get the machines looked at and the water starts draining off.

Hats off to ALL the clubs surrounding, but not including, Paradise. We found conditions to be mostly excellent this past week and even commented that it felt like riding much later in the season in many areas. Forgot to grab a pic but there was 20” of snow on the picnic table this morning. Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org has not been out yet.

MACKINAC COUNTY UPDATE via Mackinac County Snowmobile Association >> Monday March 16th Trail update Firsts thoughts are what the heck do we do??? Well at the moment we unhooked drag and running the John Deere track tractor just to try and break through. We received somewhere around 3ft so far where it hasn't blowed. There is 6 ft plus drifting in spots. The drifts are gonna get hard to. As much as I would like to say it's awesome out here it just isn't and will take several days to get somewhat of a trail. We are just getting started so there could be more surprises but we are trying!! For the next several days if you are coming up our trails are drifting and there is so much snow that it will take several trips to get smoothed out. We will update when things change. GRAND MARAIS AREA UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. >> Trail update" WE HAVE SNOW!!! Unfortunately we are holding off grooming until the weather dies down and then long enough to get dug out!! I do not know how many inches of snowfall we have had with this current storm, but drifts are from 5 to 10 feet around my house and driveway! I hope everyone is staying safe and indoors. It took about 35 minutes to dig out far enough for our dog to go out... and right back in!!! I put a shovel in the snow on top of where our generator is...in case power goes out and it don't start I will be able to find it. Stay safe, ride right, and for now, bench race!!! I don`t remember seeing a storm this bad in a long time. Thought I would jump on here real quick cause social media is going crazy thinking we are done grooming. This is far from the truth! We are done on the Falls trail #45 and the swamp on trail #8 just south of town cause that last warm up really put a hurtin on them. The warmer swamp water really started to flow cause of the melt and caused a lot of open spots. We WILL NOT risk swamping a machine! PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 03/26
3/26/25
30 degrees this morning under a bright blue sky. We did not get all the snow the weather guessers were calling for the last couple days. “They” were saying up to a foot….we got about an inch….LOL. The forecast looks like temps in the mid 30`s and a rain/snow mix for the next few days too. I`ve been gettin a lot of questions about the conditions and if we plan on gettin the groomers out. The trails are still decent and there is still a lot of snow in the woods so there is riding to be had. We do not have any plans on gettin the groomers out tho. With the temps and soft conditions predicted we will do more damage than good.
Here`s a final rundown on the trail conditions for this season….it officially ends this Monday……
Trail #8 south is still ridable but I`m sure water is starting to creep up, I haven`t heard any reports lately tho. The swamp south of town is closed of course and the ride from the river mouth to town is really rough.
I`ve had reports that the Falls trail #45 opened up. We will close the gates on that today.
Trails #452 and #453 are still decent and plenty ridable but are gettin just a touch choppy.
Trail #8 to Pine Stump is the same.
We`ve had a great season this year, just get out and enjoy the last weekend and take it easy and you`ll have a blast!!!!
Also, I`ve had reports on people trying to get out to their property in the woods by vehicle and gettin buried. Don`t try it yet folks, there`s still WAY too much snow in da woods!!! Its gonna be at least a couple weeks (maybe more) before you can make it by truck. Its a very expensive towing bill if you try it!!!!!
OK, we had a great season. God Bless and see ya`ll next December.
