Rookie Groomer Dave M went out for his first solo run last night and did a great job! Trail is beautiful. Great Job Dave.

Groomer Al, Groomer Bobby and Groomer Chris all ran last night. New snow we received over the last few days has helped a lot. Overall all of our trails are flat and firm with a little bit of loose snow on top as of the time of this update. South end of Carp River Truck Trail is being plowed for logging so while snow covered and definitely rideable it is thin. Also a little thin in the twistys near Cut River but still no problem riding or cooling. All of our trails will be groomed again tonight. Enjoy, be safe and ride right!
♦️ICE BRIDGE NOTE♦️
The Straits snowmobile club does not do the ice bridge to Mackinac Island. We have no input on when a tree line is put out or monitoring the conditions. Work is done by locals from the island, and it’s not an official trail. Because of this, we won’t report on conditions if they do get an ice bridge this year. If one does happen, there will be postings elsewhere from locals.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Lake effect snow continues through tonight, with the highest additional accumulations expected over the north-central and western UP. Gusty north winds will contribute to blowing snow and areas of very low visibility along M-28 between Marquette and Munising today, as well as parts of the Keweenaw. Tracking more snow and colder temperatures into the weekend, breezy winds early next week, and another clipper mid next week.
Winds go more NW into this weekend bringing back some colder temperatures to support more snow. Better chances for the snow Saturday into N. Lower and the Tip of the Mitt. More lake effect snow chances for Sunday.
NW winds will become breezy Sunday into Monday. We also could have another clipper system to track next Tuesday into Wednesday. As of now, looking more like another snow/mix.
