Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 03/17

Report on March 17

Temp yesterday got up to 34 but it’s back down to 13 this morning. The next 3 nights temps only down to mid twenties while days close to 40. Going to take its toll on trails.

This may be the last weekend for widespread good trails. Our trails south of Kinross have the least snow and will go first while Brimley to Raco and north will last longer. Groomers are still out and trails in good shape for now. Lots of snow in woods.

Trails are in good to excellent shape. Groomers run on a daily basis. Temps look good thru the weeken with a gradual warmup from now until Monday. Temps are below freezing overnight but starting hursdsy are to get to mid thirties. There is snow road shoulders now but if sun comes out it will disappear fast

trails are icy anywhere out in the open and with the wind watch for trees down

We are grooming all the way to Lakeshore Dr on trail #8 west of Raco as Paradise can’t get thru the swamp

Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 03/14

It was a nice 12 below to start the day and the sun is shining and it finally made it to zero about 1030.

Weatherman was calling for 4-8 inches of snow Thursday night to Friday night. Now they changed it to 3-6 inches Friday afternoon into evening. We can hope.

Trails in good to excellent shape and we continue to groom. Temps are to get a little above freezing this weekend but not much. Still cold nights. But this weekend may be the last as next week has several days in the 40’s.
