Gaylord Area Trail Report – 12/16

We’re having an epic start to snowmobile season and the Gaylord area got hit with over 80 inches of snow to start out winter.
After a light rain and warming temperatures, trails are in fair shape with some dirt showing in spots. Grooming has stopped due to the temps, but will likely begin again on Tuesday night. Don’t worry, there’s more snow in the forecast! Check out this live feed to see trail #7, just north of Gaylord.
A few things to remember about groomers:
– Groomers are out there to help you have a better riding experience and always have the right of way.
– Please move off the trail when groomers are coming and allow them to safely pass.
– If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.
– Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night.
– Have fun and stay safe!

And the melt down continues, drizzly rain again with warmer temps than we want. Sometimes things like this help the base if it hardens up but I dont see that happening for 2 or 3 days. Pics below are my back parking lot and my front drive. Very dissapointing. There were a few sleds out and about on sunday. So the wait is on again. Thanks for checking in. Pete
