Gaylord Area Trail Report – VisitGaylord.com – 01/04

The snow belt west of Gaylord picked up some of the best snow accumulations in Northern Lower Michigan, with 10+ in some spots. Groomers have been out. Pick your spots for fair early season riding. Snow base diminishes to the south of east of Gaylord.

Good News! We have snow, and Gaylord is grooming! We have between 8 to 11 inches of new snow from the storm Sun/Mon. They did their first run of grooming last night, and we just saw the groomer go by right now.
We had a group of riders just return from a ride to Starvation Lake. They reported a good ride. A few bumps but overall good riding. Jordan River has also been grooming.
Its finally here and everyone is eager to get out and enjoy the snow.
We look forward to seeing you soon. We are located directly on trail 7. Enjoy being able to park your snowmobile outside your room, and being on the trail within a minute after getting on your sled. Give us a call to make your reservation 989-732-2703 or 989-732-4914.

Reports of 3 to 5 inches in the immediate Gaylord area with snow totals of 8 to 13 inches west of Gaylord and it is still snowing with lake effect snow expected through the evening. No reports of grooming. Here a quote from Bill via Pine-cone Accommodations: ‘Absolutely beautiful day with 8-10 inches on more on the way.’

The snow did arrive. We woke up to approx. 8 inches this morning. A beautiful sight, and its been snowing on/off thru the day. They are still calling for snow thru tonight. Its about time! and we were eager to get out on our sleds.
Went out this afternoon. The trails have not been groomed, but I don’t see any reason why they won’t be. There seems to be plenty of snow. We were surprised at the number of riders that were out there. Everyone so excited to finally have some snow to enjoy. We rode on trail 7 and then off trail thru woods and fields. So much fun plowing thru the deep mounds of snow. So pretty too.
If your sleds are ready, then its time to head north and enjoy the winter. We have ample trailer parking, along with a hot breakfast that is included in the room price. We are also renting snowmobiles again this year. Give us a call to make your reservation. 989-732-2703 or 989-732-4914.
