Grayling Trail Report – Fay’s Motel – 02/09

Greetings Sledders, WOW What a couple a weeks. Thaw freeze thaw freeze, all of this activity has turned the groomer schedule upside down a few times, and finally everything will all come back together tomorrow.

The trails look good except for the problem child trail to Frederic which is the one that keeps me from rating the trails at awesome dude, or excellent man, or some other such thing. When all of our segments are pure white then and only then will I go completely over the top and throw a very in front the good. The trails must be somewhere close to that as Dave from Ohio stopped in the office and plopped a 50 dollar bill down and instructed me to buy the guys pizza for all of their volunteer efforts and I believe he also threw down an awesome or excellent or some other such thing.

We do need some snow on the trail from hell but the guys are doing a great job even though it is snirty. The rest are in good shape except for a few corners, do watch for ice however as some of the corners have been infected. I’m not going to post this warning again, not because it would be redundant, but because I’m too damned lazy to type it out report after report, just use some caution please.

Groomers are on their regular schedule so watch out for them they are big and green. Ride Often and Please Be Safe, Keith, Sandy and The Girls

Grayling Trail Report – Fay’s Motel – 01/06

Greetings Sledders,

Please forgive my tardiness in getting this out, the weather forecasts have been bouncing around and I’m rehabbing from a serious hospital stay. I’m still managing the trails, I’m just not driving or riding my sled this year.

That’s enough on that subject, let’s get to the trail conditions:

Sadly the trails are in need of snow. They all have been groomed following the holiday traffic, and the worst segment was trail #7 to Frederic which is always the case. That trail is pretty much down to dirt in many areas, flat mind you, but down to dirt. Anyone up for some ATV’n.

The weather forecast is now calling for below freezing temps into the first half of the weekend and then the bottom falls out. Bottom line is that this weekend looks to be not so pretty good. Now if you look at John Dee’s graphics there is hope out there into next week.

I have to rate our trails from poor to fair and the fair part is likely to take a hit today as the big fire ball in the sky is on high beam. Off trail is accessible and still a viable, as of this posting.

If you find that it takes you longer to read my reports it’s likely due to fact that I’m typing much slower these days. Sorry if I’m consuming more of your work day.

Ride Often and Please Be Safe,

Keith, Sandy and The Girls
