We’ve been busy setting up everything for tomorrow’s Backcountry Village big event. Gates will open around 9am, ride out at 2pm, and the the freestyle show at 4pm. Come visit the Western UP Trail Reports booth just to the left of the stage.
Also I’ve included a map in the comments of how to ride in from the trail in South Range.

Looks like Saturday is going to be the nicest day in the past 2 weeks, 20° and partly cloudy. So if you’re coming up this weekend the trails are in very good shape and warmer temps.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Northwest winds will subside through the the day with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Lake effect snow showers are expected in the northwest wind snowbelts, especially over the eastern U.P. where 1 to 3 inches of snowfall is expected. The weather has been pretty crazy the past week and a half. Hopefully it will settle down and stay cold for the month of March. Looks like another busy weekend with the hill climbs in South Range. Plus the dog sled races in the Keweenaw.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Strong westerly winds develop this afternoon and evening, with winds gusting up to 60 mph in the Keweenaw and 45 mph for the remainder of the northern UP near the Superior shoreline. Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Not to be outdone, the Porcupine Mountains are having a fantastic winter as well, reaching 175 inches total with another 12 inches of fresh snow this past week.
