Friday March 7th
Ended up doing a video out on the Fire Steel Bridges (I was forced into it). I ran down and met Todd and the gang at The Pit Stop Bar & Grill in Greenland. Then we shot up to Alston. Trails where in pretty good shape early on but like every day was getting rough after 5:00. The reroute on trail 3 in Twin Lakes was brutal. Those aren’t moguls they’re more like small mountains. Lol
Thank you Pat’s Motorsports for getting Todd back on the trail. It would have been a long walk back to Negaunee.

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Lake effect flurries and snow showers are possible today, March 1st, 2026 across some of northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. With dry air mixing in, totals will be relatively kept in check, but a swath of 1-3", perhaps 4" is possible along M-28 south of Grand Marais. Changing wind fields will also allow for light/brief accumulations along some of our lakeshore regions in the Lower Peninsula, but it's not guaranteed for everyone. Timing is through the remainder of the day. Mild temperatures coming later this week, which should help begin the melting process for many. #miweather #keweenaw #munising #newberry #sooLake effect flurries and snow showers are possible today, March 1st, 2026 across some of northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western UP Trail Reports >> 27 February 2026
The weather has been pretty crazy the past week and a half. Hopefully it will settle down and stay cold for the month of March. Looks like another busy weekend with the hill climbs in South Range. Plus the dog sled races in the Keweenaw.

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports >> 03/05

Are you out riding anywhere today?!

Justin Stoderl is staying at the Root Cellar Resort and actually went out to ride this morning.

Justin said “13 N leaving Root Cellar this morning. Plenty of good snow, once groomers get out it will be perfect. Few small drifts on 137 use caution… Landed here in Ontonagon.”

Thanks so much for sharing Justin! Be safe and keep us updated!
IF anyone attempts to ride PLEASE use extreme caution and be prepared for possible downed trees, water hazards hidden under fresh snow, blowing and drifting snow etc!

It will take a bit for grooming operations to be able to get trails back in shape!

If you don’t already have the Groomer Tracker app we highly recommend you download it and subscribe to the clubs where you ride!
