Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 01/22

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Krupps Resort –

Good morning Kruppers!
Well not much weather to talk about in the last week or so!
We haven’t lost much and our base is solid but not much new on top which is making offtrail riding a bit underwhelming!
The forecast for today looked like we had a chance for a dumping even tho it looked like it was going to skate off to our east and south!
I still think we might squeak with 2-4” in Kruppys backyard but not holding my breath!
The extended forecast isn’t very exciting either! So if your a trail rider your best riding will be Sunday through Thursdays and if your an off trail rider………. good luck finding anything untracked up for now!
If there are any good snow dancers out there please start it up now!
We need at least a foot but I really want 2’!
Maybe we should get Mable out and the Hekki Lunta crew together again!
Have a great day!

—— Keweenaw Snowmobile Club ———-

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Krupps Resort – Good morning Kruppers!
Well we survived the warm up without much damage to our snowpack!
We had a a tiny bit of rain but nothing to worry about!
The warm up helped make the base better and then came back the cold!
It snowed and blowed yesterday and here in Kruppys back yard I would say we picked up about 4” new!
It just 4 above out now!
I rode trail 3 last night and it had 2 foot whoops so not fun and then I passed Dave Sleeman in the groomer heading north from Twin Lakes to Toivola and it was awesome for the LAST MILE!”dang it”!
So far today the traffic seems light around Here in Twin Lakes!
It’s the weekend now so I would say get out early!
We need another foot or two now to make off trail riding MINT!
Let it Snow!
Have a great weekend
