Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 02/22

KRUPP’S RESORT – 02/22

Good morning folks!
Well this warmup sure has been a bummer! One more day and it should turn back to winter!
Forecast is showing a pretty good storm coming and boy do we NEED IT!!!
We have lost a TON of the white gold!
Good new is the groomers in our area have been out at night!
I can’t report on any other systems but it sounds like most have been parked sad to say!
Ironman Dave Sleeman from The Wildlife Refuge Cabins has hit all our trails again last night!
I just watched a video from last nights grooming and it was one sweet looking ribbon he was laying down!
Looking at the pics I’m going to share it’s pretty depressing looking out there for snow lovers like myself!
But I have faith in John Dee’s forecast coming up the next few days and beyond!
Fingers and toes are crossed!
Hopefully by the weekend we can go off our anti-depressants?
Have a great Hump Day!

This is the Keweenaw Snowmobile Trail System Report for Wednesday, February 22, 2017.

Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and trails are in poor to fair condition with a base ranging from 8-18 inches. Because of the high temperatures, groomers will be on standby and go out as weather permits.

Trail 122 is closed for logging. You can still access the Dreamland trail from Lake Linden but DO NOT go beyond. You can take Trail 124 to get to Gay.

Remember when you’re out on the trails to watch out for the groomers. They have the right away. Use caution around logging areas.

The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, drive safely. The signs on the trails are there for riders’ safety so please DO NOT remove or destroy them.
