KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western UP Trail Reports >> 01/10

19 January 2026

We received another 6.5 inches this morning and it’s still snowing at 10:00am. Pretty much white out conditions all morning and it’s still very poor visibility.

Stay warm it’s only 1° right now.

I thought I’d share a few picks from my ride down 109 yesterday while I grooming.

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western UP Trail Reports >> 27 February 2026
The weather has been pretty crazy the past week and a half. Hopefully it will settle down and stay cold for the month of March. Looks like another busy weekend with the hill climbs in South Range. Plus the dog sled races in the Keweenaw.

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Snowmobile Club >> 01/18

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! 📣 For the first time since the 2018 Fathers Day flood, our team was able to open and groom the Freda Loop! There are still some wet spots and many sticks (early season conditions on this trail) but it’s OPEN y’all! Shoutout to the guys from the South Range Snowmobile Club who assisted yesterday in cutting the down trees and getting it prepped for the team to pack in today! Please note the “spur” to Freda is NOT repaired and NOT open or accessible!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via The Lakeshack >> 01/18

With 3” of new snow it brings our total to 133.35” for the season and a total current depth here in Twin Lakes to 33”

I can personally say that it seems like quite a bit more deep in the woods seeing some mounds on stumps etc…

It looks like some significant snows will move in again tonight, so keep an eye on the Shackiecam for 24/7 live streaming coverage
Feel free to share or save the livestream link for quick access
Right here on the southern Shores of beautiful Lake Roland right here in twin Lakes
