NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association – 12/23

Trail update 12/23/24
We ran from Pine Stump up to Holland Lake last night as well as 498 to the North Store and back to Newberry with both groomers Both are in good shape. Then we sent a groomer to Epoufette. There wasn’t a lot of snow but there’s a lot of vehicle tracks in the trail because of deer hunting that we wanted to get out before it warmed up.

There are a couple of down trees to watch out for. One is over by the Falls on 45. Another on 9 that couldn’t be pushed with the Tucker so we are going to take the tractor up there and chainsaw and get it out. It’s on the edge of the trail, b weut it needs to be off further so just take it slow.

We opened the gates at cr 500 but paradise has not opened their side. They did try but got a groomer stuck so they had to turn around. There still are a couple of water holes between 123 and skyline road to watch out for.

Slow down, Be safe and ride right.

Merry Christmas

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Trails End Lodging >> Groomer Ed from TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association just rolled through Windy Corners for one final groom of the season… and WOW, what a ride it’s been. ❄️🔥
From early mornings to late nights, through blowing snow and brutal conditions, our groomers showed up every single time and delivered perfection. The trails this year? Absolutely unreal. 🙌
Let’s make some noise for the people who make it all happen 👇
👏 THANK YOU to every groomer who put in the hours, the grit, and the passion. You don’t always get the spotlight, but trust me—it does NOT go unnoticed.
If you rode the trails this season, drop a comment and show your appreciation:

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> 😭 Last Trip 😪
9:43PM Trail 9
Yuk! Second stop sign out, pretty ugly.
People were glad to see us from the git go, I get it!
Having to dig pretty deep with the blade in the corners followed by an aggressive drag, so heads up till we get back for any curbs I leave behind, still over 9ft wide a pass so you should be able to squeak through 😉
Othe than that, way cool sunset!
Not too much traffic, all pulled over 🥰
It's cleaning up very nice. I'll keep you posted.
11:18pm
Just finished Wolf Inn, North Store, Trails End Lodging, moved alot of snow down in the corners, lots, still digging deep.
Mostly ribbony, leveled off some intersections, enjoying my ride 😁
Just turned north, Pine Stump bound, keep you posted.
7:24am
Back down to the McMillan Leg.
After I left Windy Corners I never saw another sled, still haven't 😊 turning out pretty well, weird snow, thawed, froze, rinse, repeat it seems, kinda like artificial.
Anyway removed the ugly both sides, a few Corners could still use another lap, but they'll be fine. #newberry #snowphotos

Newberry Trail Report – 12/20

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Halfway Lake Cottages, LLC – 12/20

Trail Update: 12/20/2024
17 degrees this morning with a chance of snow today. Most of the clubs have been out over the last couple of days grooming. Trails are in relatively good shape for the weekend.

TASA trail 9 from Newberry to Pine Stump was groomed Wednesday night. Trail 9 heading south out of town is thin and won’t be groomed until it sees more snow. The gates on trail 45 are still closed at CR 500 and also on the Paradise side. Paradise did make an attempt to open the gates yesterday but with the recent melt there is to much water in the swamp and were forced to leave them shut and turn around.

Grand Marais has groomed most of their system and reports are good.

Reports from Seney are their trails are a little thin. They can use more snow but rideable. Trail 43 to the north is a little thin in spots until you get up to Fox River Rd. North of that is in good shape. Trail 8 is in great shape. Trail 440 is in good shape.Trail 431 north of the park and ride is in good shape. 43 that goes down to 10 Curves Rd is being plowed because there are loggers down there working. The swamps and lakes aren’t frozen yet so don’t go on them. Trail 431 north out of Seney the swamp is not frozen yet. So don’t use that trail until you get up to the 440-431 split by the park and ride. Just ride trail 440 along M-77 for now.

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association – 12/19

Good Morning everyone. Its currently 16 degrees out. Temps finally cooled off and we were able to get back out grooming. We just ran up to Pine Stump last night. We also picked up about 4 inches if fresh lake affect in the north.

Don’t forget to follow us on groomer tracker.

👇👇👇
• Where was your favorite ride this year?
• Best trail conditions you experienced?
• Got a shoutout for a groomer? Tag them!
Let’s blow this up and give these legends the recognition they deserve. 🚨 #newberry #snowphotos

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> Chad and I just had a discussion, and it occurred to us, we've heard no fat ladies singing, so.....
Chad, you have to answer them. Im busy.
Just have the drag spread out low and lean, nothing blade worthy yet, hauling hiny (9ish) keeps it cycling through pretty good, leavin, ribbons.
Mostly just out here looking for disasters before that lady shows up! 😉 keep you posted. #newberry #snowphotos

That's a bummer. A quick pan might have been the ticket for us diehards who can't face the reality of the end of the riding season. Great work overall this season! Through all the issues thrown at the team this year, you guys kicked it!
