Newberry Trail Report – 02/22

TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association update:

Trails looking good heading into the weekend! We still have some icy areas and some small portions of trail used for logging.
*We have a storm coming Saturday afternoon through Sunday with poor visibilty, ice, and extreme winds forecasted.

Feb. 22 2019

TASA is down a groomer. One of our groomers broke down last night on the South Trail heading back from Trout Lake. A groomer will be leaving at noon today to finish grooming the trail. We will be grooming 3 trails this weekend with 2 groomers. Our groomers will be leaving Newberry at odd hours so we can keep up.

PLEASE BE AWARE THE GROOMERS ARE ON THE TRAIL. STAY RIGHT

The weather forecast for Sunday is another winter storm that possibly will bring ice.

Trail #9 (Holland Staging Area) Good condition. Please watch for the dog sledders crossing this trail. The areas are marked.

Trail #45 (Falls) Good condition. There is logging on this trail in 3 separate areas and the areas are well marked but watch out for logging trucks.

Trail #2/9 (Epoufette/Trout Lake) Fair condition. Trail #2 will be plowed west of Hurd Road for a logging operation. Hurd Road is west ofthe Rexton Store. Please watch for logging trucks. On trail #473 Graymont will be plowing a mile of our trail the location is east of H-40 (Caffey Corner). Please slow down in this area there will be signs.

Newberry Trail Report – 02/15

TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association update:

Feb. 15 2019

We received about a foot of snow this week in the Newberry area. Its going to be a busy weekend so please SLOW DOWN AND STAY TO THE RIGHT. All 3 trails will be groomed this weekend unless there is a breakdown.

REMEMBER: The groomers are on the trails too. Our club grooms 3 trails and two of them are long trails and we need to leave the barn in the afternoon between 2:00 and 3:00.

Trail #9 (Holland Staging Area) Good to excellent condition. Please watch for the dog sledders crossing this trail. The areas are marked.

Trail #45 (Falls) Good condition. There is logging on this trail in 3 separate areas and the areas are well marked but watch out for logging trucks. Please be careful between M-123 and Skyline Road there are rocks from grading this past fall on the trail.
