Petoskey Area Trail Report – 01/31
Groomer Tom went out today and put on some miles flattening in preps for this warm weather we are in store for. Try and get what we got flat, and maybe after it thaws a little, it’ll be still a bit flat when it freezes again.
He says its still pretty rough in most areas, rocks, leaves, debris, snirty around. Here’s a couple nice pix though of a couple nice spots.

HARBOR SPRINGS UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> 2025 Ice Storm Damage. The destruction to our trail system is overwhelming, and it will take an army to clean it up. Whether you ride these trails on a snowmobile, side by side, four-wheeler, drive them in your truck, hunt these woods, walk, or bike them, we will need your help. We have a meeting this Thursday at the Harbor Barn with the Mud Brothers & Beach’s Up North Tavern to get plans together for a trail clean up on 4/26. #harborsprings #petoskey

Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat. Does anyone have any information that would explain why Antrim County was excluded from the the governor’s State of Emergency? Are there any numbers showing ice accumulation for Antrim as compared to surrounding areas?
