Boyne Area Trail Report – Mountainside Inn – 12/10

Petoskey Snowmobile Club
Updated: 12/10/2009

It took a while for winter to get started but it has started big time. This last storm system brought several more inches of snow to the area along with some blowing and drifting. That will give us enough snow to get the groomers out on the trails to start packing the base and defining the trail edges.

One of our groomers developed an electrical problem which is being fixed right now. The second groomer will be going out daily. As of Thursday morning, we are still getting a lot of lake-effect snow along with more wind. Watch out for drifts as you ride. We’ll get a more detail posting as we hear back from our operators.

The gates on trail 760 south of Maxwell Rd have been opened now. That land has been sold and the new owner changed the locks so we didn’t have a key. That has all been straightened out now and we’re good to go.

Base: 4 inches
Snowfall Past 24 hours: 6 inches
Last Grooming: Just starting to make the rounds
Current Trail Conditions: Fair
