SENEY AREA UPDATE via Seney Snowmobile Association – 12/01
We do have a good amount of snow. It is all lake affect blowing and drifting. We can’t give you an actual amount. We don’t have trail reports yet because today is the first day we can start to go out. It’s going to take us some time to set up the trails. Remember the ground underneath is not frozen yet. So swamps and mud holes won’t be frozen so avoid those areas. Our Groomer Trackers won’t be up and running just yet. We are hoping they will be back to us this week. They had to get sent out for an update. Once we get them back we will let everyone know. Give us a few days and we’ll update everyone on the trails and what to expect. So far it’s a great start to the season.

The snow globes are getting rocked!! We need this stuff to freeze in place and give us a good base to work with. According to JB, he’s out plowing the roads and we’ve already got around 15 inches of snow with more falling.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Bitterly cold temperatures will hang on through tonight as wind chill values remain below zero across the U.P., coldest in the west near the WI border. Light snow will accompany the front but generally less than an inch is expected. Behind the front temperatures will fall into the single digits above and below zero. This combined with gusty winds will bring wind chills down into the teens and twenties below zero. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for Gogebic and Iron counties tonight through Saturday morning. Lake effect snow will develop behind the front in the northwest wind snowbelts with several inches expected. Those headed outside tonight or traveling should be prepared for bitter cold and snow (in the northwest wind snowbelts). #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea
