Summerize your sled because the snowmobile trails are shot and get the ATV’s out because the ORV trails are ready to go. Why not have some fun trail riding on our ATV, winter riding is a blast. Slippin and slidin is a lot of fun. You get to ride on snow, ice and mud all in one day. We have one of the largest ORV trail systems in the State, with over 200 miles of ORV trails, plus Steelhead are in the rivers right now, so bring a pole and plenty of fishing line. These fish are pound for pound the toughest fish swimming in Michigan.
We still have a couple rooms and On- site ATV rentals weather permitting. Call 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm.
Our Weekday Special for March, Sunday through Thursday is stay two days and get the third day free, No Fridays or Saturdays free. You must mention the specials at the time of the reservation and of course these specials are dependent on availability and can not be combined with any other offer.
Plus we are in the middle of one of the largest ORV trail systems in the state, so if the snow isn’t that great for snowmobiling, bring your ORV up and ride over 200 miles of ORV trails. PLEASE DON’T RIDE YOUR ORV ON THE GROOMED SNOWMOBILE TRAILS. There are plenty of open trails available for ORV riding. Don’t worry winter isn’t over for snowmobiling, but a winter ORV ride can be a blast too. If you don’t have a snowmobile or yours is broken, no problem, WE HAVE ON-SITE SNOWMOBILE RENTALS right here at the Resort. There is good snow in the woods, so two tracken and seasonal roads are a blast right now. (Which there are tons of). 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm
Call 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm. See ya soon on the trails.

Even though we still have 16" of snow on the ground it’s going fast and we’re getting close to "all she wrote" until we get more snow and it will take a good dumping to get the trails back into shape. Towns, streets, crossings & parking lots are bare.
Gogebic Range Trail Authority report: Groomers were on trail 2 Monday, and will groom 11N and 11S as far as they can go today…then they will have to park the Groomers. Conditions poor-fair to some good. Bare spots tend to pop up during the day.

From the Lake Gogebic Area-Groomers are out-northern trails are still in fair to good shape as there’s snow in the woods-trails poor in town…it’s difficult getting in and out of Bergland… Trails south of the Lake are all in poor condition.
Unable to get a hold of anyone from the U.P. Thunder Riders of Watersmeet: Phones were out there yesterday. Trails are poor and Grooming is done unless we get a really good snowfall.
TOO MANY SERIOUS ACCIDENTS are in the news this year. Many are alcohol and speed related. We want you to have a great time on our trails here in Big Snow Country, so please use your good common sense and save your drinking for after the ride.
ICE: Let us reiterate, there is no such thing as "safe" ice.
If you choose to ride on a body of water, be sure you check with locals in the specific area you intend to ride and get current information on conditions in that area. When you ride on ice, you are doing so at your own risk.
PHOTO REQUEST from us. Thanks to those who’ve responded…keep ’em coming. If you have any neat snomo pictures you’re willing to share, we’re looking for a cover shot for next years map and other marketing uses. Can’t pay but will give a photo credit on inside of map. Send in jpg -300 dpi-to bigsnow@westernup.info. Be aware anything you send will become the property of the WUPCVB so this request is more for amateur photographers…in other words, don’t send anything you may want to sell in the future. Appreciate any help on this.
WATCH FOR GROOMERS Keep in mind the groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, and PLEASE pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them.
SIGN VANDALISM RESULTING IN SERIOUS SITUATION
Expect to see more patrols on the trails due to a recent rash of sign vandalism incidents…we’re hearing cameras also may be enlisted in order to apprehend those responsible. If you see any suspicious activity, please call the DNR at 800-292-7800.
