Just got back from a wonderful Christmas Day snowmobile ride. The trails are outstanding and we only saw five sleds during our two hour ride. We stayed south of M-55 and were on the White Pine Trail and found the trails to be good to excellent…mostly excellent as far snow conditions are concerned. All trails were super smooth. Where the trail is in the dense forest and the snow cover isn’t as heavy we found less base and some snirt. We got another 3-4 inches of fluff last night and throughout the day. We have so much snow it looks more like February around here than December.

The groomers took a little time off to celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with their families but starting tomorrow they will all be out there again running their regular routes and schedules.

33 Rd Staging Area–S of M-55–approx.. 3 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs)

Caberfae Staging Area–approx.. 12 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs)

Boon Staging Area–park in plowed area south of Boon Grocery

Note: The porta-a-johns were removed from our staging areas today as our contracts on them expired 3-15-13.

Merry Christmas. Awoke to a beautiful fresh 6″of powder. Wishing you warmth and time with family during this holiday season.

Riders over the weekend rated the trails good-excellent. They rode from here to Grand Marais, Seney, Paradise (north and south routes) and Newberry. After a few sunny but cold days we added 7″ of snow last night to freshen up already great trails. The banks are surprisingly tall and the snow gauge shows 22″ on the ground.
