Snowmobile Trail Conditions
Trails south of Mohawk are in early season condition and are being groomed. Watch out for rocks, wet spots, downed trees, and other impediments as snow levels are low.
Portage Lake Lift Bridge is estimated by MDOT to be opened to snowmobile traffic on December 18th or 20th (at the 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨𝙩).

Snowmobile Trail Closures
Trails north of Mohawk are temporarily closed due to logging. All gates are currently closed.
Trail 133 from Gay to Lac La Belle is currently closed.
Trail 120/121 Freda Loop and Trail 3 from Dollar Bay to Lake Linden will be closed for the season due to the extensive damage from the 2018 flood. The trail from Hancock to Dollar Bay and from Calumet to Lake Linden will be open so both towns will be accessible
Trail 122 is closed passed the turn off for the Dreamland Restaurant & Bar, coming from Lake Linden. All businesses are accessible. You cannot use Trail 122 to connect to Trail 124.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Expect mostly clear skies across much of the UP tonight, with cold temperatures giving way to another day of highs in the 20s to near 30 degrees on Sunday. We've been busy setting up everything for tomorrow's Backcountry Village big event. Gates will open around 9am, ride out at 2pm, and the the freestyle show at 4pm. Come visit the Western UP Trail Reports booth just to the left of the stage.
