GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 1/7
From Travis on the north trail last night-Groomed trail 8 to 89 then 888 and west 88 to m77. We’re working hard! It’s a little rough getting in and out of town but it’ll ease up with more snowfall and stop by the stand to get some hot dogs, brats, and hot cocoa just west of the 8/888 junction!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Expect lake effect snow showers today in the north to northwest wind snowbelts. Temperatures will start out cold with wind chills below -20F in the far eastern U.P. Frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes on exposed skin in these conditions. 9 degrees this morning and snowing. I picked up 5-6" of fresh snow on my deck from last night and it looks like its supposed to snow for the next couple of days too!!!
Our entire system was groomed yesterday and there`s only one way to describe it......EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, those of you who follow me know I don`t use that word very often, but I ain`t kiddin, it doesn`t get any better than this. The swamp south of town, the Falls trail, ALL of our low land trails are better than I`ve seen in a long time!!!!!
If you don`t have plans on gettin U.P. here.....make `em. It won`t last forever.
Thats all I have to report.....one word.....EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
