Groomers are out. Some good trails, some not so good trails. Have reasonable expectations and you will still have fun. Stay to the right, stay on the trail, and stay aware of groomers around the next corner.
BALDWIN AREA UPDATE via Trailriders Snowmobile Club >> 1/29 update: We are regularly grooming all 4 areas of our trails, covering all of our over 160 miles of trails. With limited volunteer operators we aren’t getting them all everyday but keeping them in great shape with the cold temps. Newaygo and the North and Rail were groomed or are being groomed today. We will hit a couple more sections tomorrow before the weekend. Reminder to join us for our open house this Saturday, January 31st from 10-4. We will have food starting around 1130 and hot and cold beverages all day along with a bonfire, raffles/door prizes and much more fun. BALDWIN AREA UPDATE via Trailriders Snowmobile Club >> 1/27 Update: We have been continuously grooming all sections as often as possible with limited operators and a tractor down due to track issues. The Newaygo trails, middle trails and Hart trail was groomed yesterday. The north and rail trails will be groomed tonight. Use caution ⚠️ ⛔️🚨if you are riding as there is blowing snow and low wind chills and we could have branches and trees down or hanging low. If you can safely remove hazards, please do. Also, report to us any larger hazards you come across and their location so we can get them removed. Here are some pictures from the last few days grooming. Ride safe, ride right and stay warm! We received approximately 8 – 10 inches of fresh snow! Trails are in much better shape and the groomers will be able to start panning today. A solid base is needed for grooming and it looks like we’re almost there. Keep THINKING SNOW!

Its 15 degrees and a crunchy saturday morning, no new snow once again since yesterday. Only about 5 sleds rode into here yesterday but on the bright side already have been 2 in here this morning. They came up from Marlette to ride and like they said the little bit of snow we have here is way bettter than what they have at their place. I guess I have to concede and say that this is all we have and I have seen worse conditions than this so if you really have to get a ride in all you can do is make the best of it…..So basically todays report is about the same as everyday for the past ten days…….Thanks for checking in. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> It was a great start to the day in Frederic on tuesday morning. Wertz Warriors were in town at the Swamp for their annual stop and fund raiser for Special Olympics. Julie put out a great breakfast srpead for all of them as they were all getting to spend another day on the trail heading towards the Winter Special Olympics. They have as many people in support vehicles as they do riders. Always a great site to see. After they left at 9:30 I came back over to Sledheads to get ready to go ride to Lewiston and then 3 guys Scott, Jeff and Pat came in and said they were going to ride to the bridge. So much for Lewiston, Ten minutes later I had my closed sign up and we were on our way to the bridge. Stopped at Breakers in Topinabee for hot chocolate and then up thru Cheboygan to Maknaw City for lunch at the Keyhole and then off to Pellston and Alanson with a pit stop at Josh’s at Spankys. It was getting close to dark so we made our way thru back to Indian River. The guys had rented a motel in INdian River and I left them and back to Frederic. Another nice 170 mile day. Trails are the best they have been in years and they were flat like a table all day. It doesnt happen like that very often and this seems to be the year with no snirt sor far. I like that part too. All pics below are from yesterdays events and ride. It was a good ride with those 3 guys and I am glad they stopped in.
