KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports….
We are under another winter weather advisory! High winds and blowing snow can lead to significant drifting in areas of the KSC trail system, please ride with caution.
It seems like it has been snowing everyday for all of February!
The 2021/22 season official snowfall total for Keweenaw County is at 224.5 inches through February 15th. We have already surpassed the 2020/21 season total of 188.4 inches!
Conditions have been great for those riding Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula! We are coming into what is certain to be a very busy, extended holiday weekend for riders. We recommend downloading the Groomer Tracker App and subscribing to the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club trail system. This will give you up to the moment details on grooming operations. Groomer operators are striving to maintain the highest quality trail conditions possible
Jason Scott, Mitch Lucky and Caylin James stayed at Cliff View Cabins while they were up riding the Keweenaw. Cliff View is located right on trail 3. Jason shared these beautiful photos with us from their days riding the Keweenaw.

I was fortunate to meet Craig Shavlis and the PA group today on the trails in Houghton today. They’ve been up all week and said they have a blast and loved the smooth trails Keweenaw Snowmobile Club has provided. Hope to run into you again and be safe.

Dangerously cold wind chills this morning and again tonight into Monday morning are expected, Cold Weather Advisories are in effect. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Extremely cold temperatures and wind chills continue today into Saturday morning while lake effect snow continues over the NW wind snowbelts. Frostbite can occur in less than 10 minutes on exposed skin in this weather. It was a very snowy and cold day to be out riding. Better than half my run was in white out conditions which made it very difficult to even see the trail at times.
Due to the severe weather we will pause grooming for the next couple of nights.
