KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Snowmobile Club >> 12/01
December 1st! Much like many clubs across the UP, we’re dealing with a large amount of downed trees and branches hanging over our trails. Please be patient as we clean up and open things gradually.
Conditions to Note:
🌉 Portage Lake Lift Bridge crossing is not open, and won’t open until the Coast Guard closes the shipping lane.
⚠Gates will remain closed on private property until trails can be opened.
🛑 Trail 130 between Eagle Harbor and Eagle River due to logging, can access both towns via their trail spurs until logging completes.
🛑 Trail 124 between Trail 3 at Vansville junction and the 122/124 intersection due to logging. Please respect this closure and stay out of this area so we don’t risk permanent trail closures.
🛑 Trail 133 closed until at least 12/15 due to hunting.
Early season conditions exist across the system, water spots, rocks, trees down, etc.

Trails are open, I have heard sleds out but havent seen any, We went for a ride yesterday and my ski dud stranded me, The battery went dead, but Big John pulled me back along with Timmy who was also with us. I put a new battery in it and I loaded her up for the next time That was a 20 mile ride with a 5 mile tow. Snow was fantastic with still alot of trees hanging off of trees. Still a short but great ride. I am still moving snow as there is still so much of it. Thanks for checking in. Pete
