Cadillac / Baldwin Area Trail Report – Wolf Lake Motel and Resort – 02/10

Hi All. 3" to 4" locally and more in surrounding areas. Several school are closed and they don’t close schools around here to often. Groomers were out last night and all trails should be sweet. I try and get some pictures posted later today from my ride. Yes I get to ride during the week. Ha Ha Ha. Right now I have to go plow. Roads are being cleared as I type.

Latest local grooming schedules can be found on our web site. The best part is that we are in the middle of all these grooming clubs, so if one isn’t grooming, one of the other clubs are grooming. I’m quite sure the groomers will be out again as this new snow falls, but usually they like to let it fall first to get it packed down.

Most trails were still in good to fair shape without the new snow, except trail 344 and the short section of trail 3 just south of Low Bridge, but more snow is always good, right? We still have a couple rooms and snowmobiles available for this weekend, so call soon, because once the snow hits, you won’t be able to get a room. Call 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm.

We are running a Bed and Sled Special. Get a modern well maintained single passenger Snowmobile from 10am until 6pm and one of our small single Motel Rooms, Sunday through Thursday for $230, helmet and tax included or get a modern well maintained two passenger Snowmobile from 10am until 6pm and one of our small single Motel Rooms, Sunday through Thursday for $260, helmet and tax included. Weather permitting.

Also stay two days and get the third free, Sunday through Thursday. No Fridays and Saturdays. You must mention at the time of the reservation and of course this special is dependent on availability and can not be combined with any other offer.

Plus we are in the middle of one of the largest ORV trail systems in the state, so if the snow isn’t that great for snowmobiling, bring your ORV up and ride over 200 miles of ORV trails. PLEASE DON’T RIDE YOUR ORV ON THE GROOMED SNOWMOBILE TRAILS. There are plenty of open trails available for ORV riding. Don’t worry winter isn’t over for snowmobiling, but a winter ORV ride can be a blast too. If you don’t have a snowmobile or yours is broken, no problem, WE HAVE ON-SITE SNOWMOBILE RENTALS right here at the Resort. There is good snow in the woods, so two tracken and seasonal roads are a blast right now. (Which there are tons of). 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm

Rooms and ON-SITE Snowmobile Rentals are available.

Western U.P. Trail Report – Western U.P. Bureau – 02/10

Groomers in all areas are out working on the trails. Had a little new snow – not much but enough to freshen things up a bit.
Gogebic Range Trail Authority: Groomers are out both day and night and all trails are being groomed including 2-8-160-11N and 11S. Overall conditions Good-some very good, some fair. Keep in mind with increased use, corners may be icy -and as always, use extra caution when crossing streets, roads and driveways.
From the Lake Gogebic Area-Groomers are all out double grooming all trails.. trails range from good to very good.
Watersmeet groomers are out and reporting trails are solid and conditions are fair to good.
IN ALL AREAS:
Please slow down when riding through towns. We’re starting to get some complaints so let’s nip it in the bud before it become a problem.
TOO MANY SERIOUS ACCIDENTS are in the news this year. Many are alcohol and speed related. We want you to have a great time on our trails here in Big Snow Country, so please use your good common sense and save your drinking for after the ride.

ICE: Let us reiterate, there is no such thing as "safe" ice.
If you choose to ride on a body of water, be sure you check with locals in the specific area you intend to ride and get current information on conditions in that area. When you ride on ice, you are doing so at your own risk.

WATCH FOR GROOMERS Keep in mind the groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, and PLEASE pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them.
SIGN VANDALISM RESULTING IN SERIOUS SITUATION
Expect to see more patrols on the trails due to a recent rash of sign vandalism incidents…we’re hearing cameras also may be enlisted in order to apprehend those responsible. If you see any suspicious activity, please call the DNR at 800-292-7800.
