SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 3/23 Just a PSA- saw a few rumors about gates being closed. Our gates ARE NOT closed. We have one gate that was blown halfway closed on trail 8 at 20th street. It most definitely is not locked. Word is that there are ruts close to where the ski trail crosses trail 8 between 20th street and 5 mile where an authorized vehicle was out doing a necessary survey. We did not get that much snow here, barely an inch, followed by freezing rain. Definitely poor riding conditions. If you do plan to ride for some reason, feel free to simply push the gate open and beware of the ruts on trail 8 as we are not running groomers due to current conditions.
