Ironwood Trail Report – 01/06
IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 1/6 One of them nights. We got hit, normal EPIC riding conditions are HERE! Trail 2, 8 and 11 connector between them were all groomed twice (four passes). 160 was groomed. We have an issue in the gravel pit and we will get that signed today. There seems to be 12-16" around with more in the woods and hills. Snow is forecast to basically not stop, so our groomers won’t either. We’ll work on 11s today and hit the system tonight. You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
