ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP – 12/28 Groomer Mikey was out grooming tonight we have received 2" to 6" of fresh snow on our trail system Trail 12 from white pine to potato farm rd is thin with a couple passable wet spots. Trail 101 to Trail 13 is groomed and in good shape Trail 13 from Trail 101 to Rockland is groomed and in good shape Trail 137 is thin Trail 12 from 137 to Greenland is thin with some bad wet spots. Trail 11 south boundary rd has lots of snow and will be groomed Tuesday along with lake of the clouds Trail 1 from white pine to silver city is thin. You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! Please ride the West side before the highway cross over with caution as the recovery equipment left some snow piles and rough trail areas. Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
