KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports…. I personally have only been riding on the north side of the bridge (Portage Lake Lift Bridge) however, every report I have receive from the south side….Houghton to Mass City has been excellent. <> We hope you all enjoyed Christmas whether you were gathered around the tree with family and friends or riding through the trees behind the bars of your sled! Joka Philipovic spent the day riding Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula and shared these photos and comments, “we started from The Trailside Lodge and then took Trail 3 north all the way to Copper Harbor. We put around 150 miles on our sleds and it was awesome with almost no traffic. There were a couple wet areas but none that were bad. There was plenty of snow ❤😀” Thanks for sharing your photos and comments! So glad you have been enjoying your trip! Groomer Operators are out currently. You can view their progress by downloading Groomer Tracker app and subscribing to the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club. There is a $10 fee and half of that goes to the club! You will obtain real time grooming information AND help support the club! We are under a winter weather advisory for Monday! 👏The Portage Lake Lift Bridge will be opened for snowmobile crossing tomorrow afternoon. ⚠Trail 122 is closed after the turn off for Dreamland Restaurant & Bar (Sawmill Rd) when you are coming from Lake Linden. You can still access all of the businesses in Lake Linden and Jam Service Inc. and Valley Sno Drifters trail to Dreamland once that club opens it. *You can not use Trail 122 to connect to Trail 124*
⚠Trail 133 has been reopened after being closed for several seasons. The trail is in poor condition due to low snow cover and wet areas
🛑 Trail 120/121 Freda Loop and Trail 3 from Dollar Bay to Lake Linden will be closed for the season due to the extensive damage from the 2018 flood. We've been busy setting up everything for tomorrow's Backcountry Village big event. Gates will open around 9am, ride out at 2pm, and the the freestyle show at 4pm. Come visit the Western UP Trail Reports booth just to the left of the stage.

Looks like Saturday is going to be the nicest day in the past 2 weeks, 20° and partly cloudy. So if you're coming up this weekend the trails are in very good shape and warmer temps.
