FROM US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan --> With meteorological summer underway, here’s a look back at how the 2021-2022 snowfall season stacked up across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Season totals were much higher than the 2020-2021 season which featured well below normal snowfall. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan - A low pressure center lingering over the area will enhance lake effect snow showers into portions of west and north central Upper Michigan today into tonight. WEATHER UPDATE via TV6 & FOX UP - WINTER STORM CHANGES: The track of the storm system has shift farther south. This changes the areas of highest impacts and snow amounts. We're starting off the day with snow/sleet across the eastern half of the U.P. Wind gusts will still be at times strong around 40 mph. This will still cause limited visibility near Lake Superior and some power outages. Snow accumulations will be lower with up to around 6.0" in the eastern counties. For the latest alerts click below.
