By tomorrow, the wintry precipitation will become more confined to the north, while showers and thunderstorms sneak into the southern counties. A few of these storms could even become strong at times with large hail. After warm and dry days Sunday and Monday, incoming rainfall is expected by late Monday afternoon. High temperatures will top off in the 40s and 50s by Sunday and Monday. MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails >> Short run today to make sure our east end is smooth and conditions couldn’t be better. Possibly making one more full run before the end of season to make sure we are right on track to finish the season out. Reports have been coming in that the trail is pretty smooth. Grooming will end, but the entire trail will be open through the 31st. Private land closes across the state on the 1st of April, so feel free to keep riding, but please respect private property as land use permits do not allow clubs to keep the trail open. No significant Changes. Groomer Operators reporting fair results with no new snow. We have a very hard light chop base with sugary snow and some icy corners. Most of our Trail System is in Overall Fair condition getting icy in sections under the soft snow and some outlying areas in poor condition. Honestly if you do not mind sugary snow there is still some great riding out there. Trail 8 from Shingleton West to Trail 417 is a bit choppy in areas but fairly flat. Trail 417 to Brownstone Intersection and Trail 7 from 2 miles South of Christmas South to Buckhorn Road and Trail 418 are in Fair condition and a bit choppy. Trail 7 South of Doe Lake Road and Trail 419 from Wetmore to Munising are in poor condition. In the towns and along highways you will be finding dirty snow and bare spots. Trail 8 North of Shingleton is fairly flat with some chop for 7 miles North of Shingleton. This section is listed as Poor due to being very thin for the first 4 miles heading North with a few bare patches and bare or icy corners.
