MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA – 02/09 TRAIL REPORT – Wednesday, 02/10/2021 BITTER COLD GROOMING CONTINUES! No real changes today. Still No new snow with bitter cold temps and very good trail grooming results. These minus double digits are creating some very interesting snow clouds when grooming. Trails are in overall Very Good Riding conditions across a majority of our trail system if you can stand the cold. Good news is All our machines are back up and running. Kudos to Chuck, Mike and Quest for their handling of two machines down Monday and Quest for the volunteer repair overtime. With that Trail 419 grooming with our JD 7130 resumes later today. There is a logging issue on Trail 8 (7) miles North of Shingleton so ride with caution. Please respect residential property owners and STAY ON THE TRAIL, No Snowmobile Signs mean just that. Now we are looking at 6″-10″ of snow. It may be wet and heavy, but we will welcome it to add to the trail. Keep praying and doing your snow dance. Warmer weather is in store for midweek with highs in the 20s and even into the low 30s in the far west. Two round of light snow is expected on Thursday into Friday morning. Reinforcements from Pennsylvania have arrived also! We are hitting it hard for this weekend with a short preventative maintenance window planned for the machine on Saturday. Temps are warming up during the day, making the trail soft and letting moguls form, but temps will drop again for the weekend! That means better trails for Saturday. Looks warm for the start of next week with temps near 30 by Tuesday. Get out and ride while the riding is good!
