MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA – 02/05
TRAIL REPORT – Friday, 02/05/2021 FINALLY SOME REAL SNOWFALL! A Winter Storm Warning is still in effect with about 8+ inches of snow falling overnight and still coming down. For now Trails are in overall Good Riding conditions across a majority of our trail system. Grooming operations were limited over the last 24 hours due to warm weather ahead of this storm. It will take the next 24 hours to get the new snow set and groomed across our system. We did pull out another tool in our arsenal last night. Our 3-point Dubie Groomer was put on the John Deere 7130 to get Trail 419 fairly cut in between Munising and Wetmore while the limited snow was really wet. A SPECIAL THANKS goes out to Peter Lindquist for bringing over his John Deere with a bucket loader to lift it of the trailer for us. Trail 419 still has a challenging creek crossing in there so, ride with caution. Hopefully the new snow lets us get a temporary culvert in this weekend. There is a logging issue 7 miles North of Shingleton (see General Warning below). Trail 418 has a gravel mix along the big lake near AuTrain. Please respect residential property owners and STAY ON THE TRAIL, No Snowmobile Signs mean just that. Please continue the snow dances and Stay Tuned for updates!
