Jordan Valley Area Trail Report – 12/03

JORDAN VALLEY AREA UPDATE via Jordan Valley Trails Council >> 12/03

Latest trail update:

766 and 76 north where our trial meets Petoskey’s trail has many thin spots. 766 has some wet areas still, which is normal for this time of year.

4/76, 76 south and trail 4 still have good snow cover with some thin spots.

Depending on the weather station, we are slated to get 8-10”+ of snow before the weekend which will add a small amount to what’s already on the trails.

🚨BE CAUTIOUS OF TREES/LIMBS DOWN ON THE TRAILS!🚨. Every groomer pass has required our volunteers to cut trees, limbs and move brush. We anticipate this will continue through the year due to the ice storm. Please send us a message if you encounter a downed tree so we can spread the word and get a crew to remove any trail obstruction. We will continue to have people inspecting trails even when the groomer isn’t out.

Ride safe, ride right, ride sober

JORDAN VALLEY AREA UPDATE via Jordan Valley Trails Council >> One last rip?! It’s a good possibility!
It appears Sunday into Monday will be the best snow for the weekend. Currently groomer coordinators are monitoring snowfall, weather and trail conditions for the next few days. At last inspection the valley had few spots getting thin with occasional standing and flowing water in a few places. 131 was thin but still snow covered. Southern trails still have a decent base but have got a good amount of rain saturated into them. Trails have remained hard and icy after the rain/meltdown and refreeze.
Saturday - head down to the The Hideaway Bar from 9-1 for groomer appreciation and then in the evening head back there for their annual customer appreciation party. We can thank them enough for their support of our operation!
We’d also like to thank Tim and Laurie Bingham for their donation from the bean pot they held. They continue to be great supporters of ours, THANK YOU! #jordanvalleyOne last rip?! It’s a good possibility!

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Lots of wintry weather ahead!
Today: Snow and blowing snow move across northern MI with bursts of heavy snow falling at 1-2" per hour combined with wind gusts of 30-45+ mph likely leading to whiteouts at times, especially this morning. Snow tapers this evening into tonight.
A brief break in wintry weather anticipated Saturday.
Saturday night through Monday: A late season winter storm has its sights set on the Great Lakes region. While uncertainty still exists with regards to specific snowfall/icing amounts and the location of where these highest amounts fall, potential continues to increase for parts of northern MI to see 12-24"+ of snow while others see impactful/heavy icing. Use caution when looking at detailed forecast amounts several days in advance. Stay tuned -- lots more info to come over the next 48 hours. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskey
